4th Annual Paddle Palooza

July 14-16 2023

Please join the Silver Lining Montana for this spectacular Outrigger, Dragon Boat adventure on Flathead Lake.

The Paddle Palooza is our biggest fundraiser of the year and a one-of-a-kind experience. This event is not a race but rather a spiritual adventure that includes paddling teams from around the US, Canada and Hawaii. The Silver Lining Paddle Palooza is really about the power of ceremony, about honoring Mother Earth, our ancestors and the healing power of water. Most of all, we are excited to be creating a larger paddling community on the shores of spectacular Flathead Lake. We are also incredibly excited to have returning to this event Hawaiian elder and legend Kimokeo Kapahulehua, who will be leading us in traditional Hawaiian ceremony, alongside the Pacific Islander Community Association of Montana as well as Confederated Salish Kootenai tribal members.  Cost per paddler is $350/person which includes:
  • 2 nights’ accommodations and food at Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp (FLBC). (option to bring your own bedding or a minimal charge for bedding provided by FLBC)
  • Cultural ceremony Friday evening
  • Voyage Saturday (2 distance options), support boat provided for each outrigger team
  • Musical event Saturday evening at FLBC.
  • Optional paddling Sunday: open paddling/instruction for youth and those new to outrigger
In the native Hawaiian culture, the sacred term mana is known as spiritual energy of power and strength. Come join us and experience a weekend of mana.

Accept the things to which fate binds you,
And love the people with whom fate brings you together,
But do so with all your heart.

The MISSION of the Silver Lining Foundation is to help Western Montana women diagnosed with breast cancer achieve and maintain wellness of mind, body and spirit through emotional support, education, and physical activity. We fully embrace and practice what we preach……that EXERCISE IS MEDICINE. Our true joy is paddling dragon boats and outrigger canoes, both of which have a physiological and psychological relevance to survivorship. When all are paddling in sync together on the water, there is an unspoken understanding of the true healing power of water and the power of community, working together toward a common goal.
