The mission of Casting for Recovery® (CfR) is to enhance the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique retreat program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing. The program offers opportunities for women to find inspiration, discover renewed energy for life and experience healing connections with other women and nature. CfR serves women of all ages, in all stages of breast cancer treatment and recovery, at no cost to participants. Casting for Recovery healing program is unique! For women who have had surgery or radiation as part of their breast cancer treatment, the gentle motion of fly casting can be good physical therapy for increasing mobility in the arm and upper body. Couple that with the emotional benefits of connecting with nature, and you’ve got powerful medicine. The retreats are unconventional and described by many women as life-changing.

Camp-Mak-A-Dream spring retreats are designed to bring together women from all walks of life, at all points in their lives, in treatment or out, newly diagnosed or long-term survivor; together and in an open, accepting environment. These retreats aim to empower participants through education, recreation and relaxation in a setting where it’s okay to admit how good the comfort feels that comes with a shoulder — or 20 — to lean on.
